Review: The Apocalypse Codex

The Apocalypse Codex The Apocalypse Codex by Charles Stross
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is absolutely delightful. The rythm is great - The bad Elder Gods and their minions are great and the characters based upon Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin are in themselves such joy to get to know that their inclusion makes the rest a sheer bonus. Magick, Cthulu, bureaucracy, Modesty & Willie, an agent named Bob and a villain who is everything that is bad with a preacher....except his lack of nuts...literally...
What is there not to like?

For good fun and decent mayhem...read it

Review: Zombie Battle: Complete

Zombie Battle: Complete Zombie Battle: Complete by Jacqueline Druga
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I kind of like zombie origin stories and this is one of those. It is also refreshing that all participants are not complete morons who gets into impossible situations due to stupid behaviour. It is a well told story and it is entertaining which is what I would hope for when it comes to the living dead.
